I took every art course I could in college—starting as an art major before switching to my second love, history. Those classes gave me the fundamentals I still rely on: composition, color, and the freedom to experiment.

I started painting to honor the Florida I know by heart. My style is loose and painterly; my brushstrokes wander and wiggle, which feels perfectly Florida. I use a bright, almost technicolor palette because that’s how this place shows up for me—loud, luminous, impossible to ignore.

I’m not trying to recreate a scene exactly. I’m trying to capture the mood: the heat, the shimmer, the “that sky is showing off again” moments. My hope is that when a painting lands in someone’s home or workspace, it brings a little Florida sunshine… minus the humidity.

Eventually I realized not everyone wants art for their wall. Some people want to wear Florida, carry it, live with it. So I began putting my original paintings on hats, T‑shirts, and everyday pieces—ways for people to connect with this place even if they aren’t traditional art collectors.

That’s how I found my people. Fellow Tide Riders—the ones who live above the chaos and below the radar. Folks who appreciate slow tides, quiet trails, early‑morning springs, and the easygoing rhythm of life here.

Every design begins as a hand‑painted original. My hope is that each piece brings someone a spark of recognition, nostalgia, or peace—a reminder of the Florida we love.
